It is the product of the 'third boil' of the sugar juices. Blackstrap molasses should not be confused with standard molasses which is not so rich in minerals. Blackstrap molasses is particularly rich in calcium and can be an excellent source of calcium for those who restrict their dairy intake.

Blackstrap Molasses is rich in minerals and can be eaten by the spoon, diluted in hot water and taken as a drink or used in cooking.
